Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has issued a fresh warning for fishermen along the Odisha coast, predicting deteriorating sea conditions over the next five days.
According to the bulletin issued today, squally weather is very likely to prevail along and off the Odisha Coast from July 14 to July 18. During this period, wind speed is expected to reach 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph. Due to the strong surface winds, the sea condition is likely to remain rough to very rough along and off the Odisha Coast for the entire five-day stretch. In view of the adverse weather, the IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha Coast from July 14 to July 18.
IMD has also urged those who are already out at sea to return to shore at the earliest and coastal residents to remain vigilant. The warning has been shared with district administrations of all coastal districts for necessary precautionary measures.
