IMD Warns Of Heavy Rainfall In 11 Odisha Dists During Next 24 Hrs

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall in one or two places of 11 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours.

The districts likely to experience heavy rainfall are Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

While heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada,

Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh and Jharsuguda during the next 24 hours.

The IMD has issued an Orange alert for the districts of Sundargarh and Jharsuguda, while it has issued a Yellow alert for the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Odisha, South Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha during the next 24 hours.

Here’s the IMD’s weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 22.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Odisha, South Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh and Jharsuguda.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 23.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha, South Interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated):  Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 24.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 25.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 26.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
