Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Warning for four districts in Odisha, forecasting light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and lightning within the next two hours.
The districts under alert are Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, and Koraput. The warning is valid until 10.45 am.
According to IMD’s nowcast, isolated places in these districts are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning, surface wind speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph and light to moderate rainfall.
The IMD has advised residents in the affected areas to remain alert and take necessary safety precautions to avoid weather-related mishaps.
