Malkangiri: The Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) has been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standard Award (NQAS) certification by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The Malkangiri DHH has been upgraded by the state government and the medical center is considered as a high-quality hospital. The state government and the Central government have made various facilities available at this hospital, so the ADMO, doctors, nurses, and other staff have made efforts to keep it clean and beautiful.
It is worth mentioning here that on behalf of the Union Health Ministry, a three-member team visited various government hospitals in the state in July 2023 to assess various parameters at these hospitals. Following the assessment, Malkangiri DHH emerged as the best hospital in the state, and the National Quality Award was given to the Malkangiri DHH on January 11.
A special function was organised at the hospital on Monday to celebrate the occasion and also pledge to enhance the performance in the future. District Chief Medical Officer Dr Prafulla Nand, Additional District Medical Officer Dr Anil Mishra, ADPO (Health Welfare) Dr Brajbandhu Das, ADPO (VBD), Dr Dhaneshwar Mohapatra, Hospital Manager Shashank Shekhar Panditra and Deputy Nursing Superintendents Rukmini Naik, Manoj Kumar Naik, Nirupama Raju, Padmini Raut, and all the doctors and nurses of the hospital were present at the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, District Collector and District Magistrate Vishal Singh expressed his happiness for achieving another milestone in the field of health services and congratulated all the doctors and staff of the Malkangiri DHH.
During the assessment from July 24 to 26 last year, national-level observers from Hyderabad and Kolkata visited 19 departments of the hospital and awarded 88 per cent marks. On January 11 this year, the National Family and Health Welfare Department awarded the hospital the NQAS certificate. Previously, this hospital received the Kayakalpa Award thrice, but now the doctors and staff members of the hospital have expressed their happiness for being awarded the National Quality Award.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has also congratulated all the staff of the Malkangiri DHH in a tweet on Sunday.
