Bhubaneswar: Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur on Monday convicted and sentenced Junior Clerk, In Charge Record Keeper in the Office of Settlement Officer, Ganjam-Koraput, Major Settlement Office, Berhampur Pradeep Kumar Sahu to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for a period of 2 years for demanding and accepting bribe for supply of copy of Yadast relating to his landed properties.
The Court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on Sahu and in default of payment of fine he has to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months more.
The Court further sentenced Sahu to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and payment of a fine of Rs 5,000 and in default of payment of the fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 month more. Both the sentences are to run concurrently.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the dismissal of Pradeep Kumar Sahu from service following his conviction.
