Bhubaneswar: In preparation for the 79th Independence Day celebrations, the Odisha government has officially released a list of cabinet ministers designated to hoist the national flag across various districts on August 15, 2025.
As per the official notification, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will hoist the national flag in the capital city.
The two Deputy Chief Ministers have also been given key responsibilities:
- Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo will hoist the flag in Keonjhar
- Pravati Parida will do so in Cuttack
Other ministers have been assigned to different districts as follows:
- Suresh Pujari, Minister of Revenue & Disaster Management – Sambalpur
- Rabi Narayan Naik, Minister of Rural Development – Bolangir
- Nityananda Gond, Minister of School & Mass Education – Kalahandi
- Krushna Chandra Patra, Minister of Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare – Kandhamal
- Prithiviraj Harichandan, Minister of Law – Puri
- Mukesh Mahaling, Minister of Health & Family Welfare – Sundargarh
- Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Minister of Commerce & Transport – Gajapati
- Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister of Housing & Urban Development – Bhadrak
- Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia, Minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change – Nabarangpur
- Suryabanshi Suraj, Minister of Higher Education – Sonepur
- Pradeep Bal Samanta, Minister of Textiles & Handicrafts – Angul
- Gokulananda Mallick, Minister of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development – Rayagada
- Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of Industries – Mayurbhanj
The district-level celebrations will be carried out with full patriotic fervour, reflecting the spirit of unity and pride.
