Cuttack: The stage is set for the highly anticipated T20 match between India and South Africa at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, scheduled to take place two days from now. However, concerns have been raised about the possibility of dew affecting the game. To mitigate this, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has brought in a special anti-dew chemical from abroad.

According to Dr Anjan Kumar Khuntia, Chief Pitch Curator of OCA, the chemical will be sprayed on the outfield grass from today until the match day, Tuesday. This chemical will prevent dew from accumulating on the grass, ensuring a smooth and safe playing surface.

It is learnt that the anti-dew chemical is being used for the first time at Barabati Stadium. 80 field staff, along with the curators, are working to ensure the outfield is in top condition for the match.

The OCA has also announced that super soppers will be used during the match breaks to remove any excess moisture. The outfield barriers will be cleaned using dry ropes to prevent slipping hazards.

The India-South Africa T20 match is expected to draw a large crowd, and the OCA is leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth conduction of the game.
