Bhubaneswar: A five-day induction training programme for newly appointed Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) of History concluded here on Friday, with 120 teachers participating in the first phase, officials said.
Organised by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education under the School and Mass Education Department, the programme was held from September 7 to 11 at IMAGE, Siripur, to strengthen the knowledge, teaching skills and professional competencies of newly appointed PGTs.
Director of Higher Secondary Education Niyati Pattnaik, Additional Director Binita Senapati, Joint Director Sasmita Mali and Deputy Director C.H. Bijayalakshmi attended the valedictory ceremony and interacted with the participating teachers.
The training covered key areas including the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, gender-responsive education, ICT-enabled teaching-learning, Odisha Education Rules, SAMS and Shikshajyoti portals, the POSH Act, scholarships, administrative responsibilities, examination and assessment planning, and career guidance.
The programme also familiarised the teachers with their professional responsibilities and helped enhance their preparedness for classroom teaching as well as institutional duties.
The second phase of the PGT Induction Training Programme will be held from September 21 to 25 for another group of newly appointed PGTs.
