Intense Heat Wave Grips Odisha; Jharsuguda Turns Boiling Cauldron At 44.8°C

Bhubaneswar: Jharsuguda and Titilagarh emerged as the hottest places in Odisha on Wednesday as intense heat wave conditions swept across the state.

Jharsuguda recorded a maximum temperature of 44.8°C, followed by Titilagarh at 44.0°C. Sambalpur registered 43.6°C while Hirakud recorded 43.4°C.

Angul and Bolangir saw temperatures of 43.1°C and 43.0°C respectively.  Sonepur recorded 42.8°C. Rourkela, Sundargarh, Nuapada, and Bhawanipatna each recorded 42.6°C. Talcher logged 42.5°C, Paralakhemundi 42.0°C, Boudh 41.8°C, and Bargarh 41.7°C.

Dhenkanal recorded 41.5°C, Phulbani 40.8°C, and Khordha touched 40.0°C.

The India Meteorological Department has advised people to avoid prolonged exposure to heat, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions as heat wave conditions are likely to continue.
