Bhadrak: Life is returning to normal in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, which was rocked by communal tension following a controversial post on Facebook on September 27. After relaxing Section 163 in various areas, the district authorities have restored the Internet services in the district from 12 midnight on Wednesday. However, the administration is strictly monitoring the social media postings strictly. The administration has warned that stern actions will be taken against people for objectionable posts.
So far, 33 people have been arrested from different areas of the district in connection with the violence unleashed on September 27.
Prohibitive measures under Section 163 continue in the district but shops and supermarkets have been allowed to remain open from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm. Movement of traffic returned to normal, but congregations and rallies have been banned.
It is worth mentioning here that Odisha DGP YB Khurania visited Bhadrak Town and Dhamanagar on Tuesday to review the situation in the strife-torn areas. Following the review, the DGP urged the people to ignore social media posts and maintain peace.
