Bhadrak: The internet suspension in Bhadrak district has been extended for another 12 hours to maintain law and order.
As per the directives of Bhadrak Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Rout, internet services will remain closed from 6 am to 6 pm today.
The suspension will affect Bhadrak Municipality, Bhadrak Block, Dhamnagar Notified Area Council (NAC), Dhamnagar Block, and Tihidi Block. On Tuesday, internet services were suspended for 24 hours, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. today.
The district administration is closely monitoring the situation, with Bhadrak Superintendent of Police Manoj Rout personally overseeing the development. To maintain peace and order, 27 platoons of police forces have been deployed in the sensitive areas.
The move is reportedly aimed at maintaining peace and order in the region following a recent incident where a youth named Santosh Parida succumbed to injuries the day before yesterday at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after being attacked by cattle smugglers in the Thihidi police station area of Bhadrak a few days ago.
Tihidi police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by Santosh’s wife, Minati Behera, and have arrested 12 accused individuals, including two main suspects. The situation in Bhadrak remains tense, with the police working diligently to apprehend the remaining accused and maintain peace in the area.
The Chief Minister has also announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the family of the deceased. Additionally, the Chief Minister has assured that one member of the family will be provided with employment.
