Bhubaneswar: IPS officer Anugu Shiva Maruthi Reddy on Tuesday assumed charge as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati.
Reddy formally took charge at a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan, where the Governor welcomed him to his new assignment. Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Governor Dr Roopa Roshan Sahoo and senior officers of the Governor’s Secretariat were present on the occasion.
Prior to his new assignment, Reddy was serving as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of G. Udayagiri.
Reddy succeeds IPS officer Ananya Awasthi as the ADC (Police) to the Governor.
The Governor is assisted by two ADCs — one from the Indian Navy and the other from the Odisha Police. Lt Cdr Harshit Deo is currently serving as the ADC (Navy), while Reddy has assumed charge as the ADC (Police).
The ADC assists the Governor in carrying out official and ceremonial engagements and performs various protocol-related responsibilities.
