IPS Officer Ghanashyam Upadhyay Promoted To ADG Rank; 5 Others Promoted To IG

Bhubaneswar:  Senior IPS officer Ghanashyam Upadhyay of 1999 batch has been promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police. Upadhyay is now on central deputation.

Similarly, 18 other IPS officers have been promoted to different ranks.

Five Odisha cadre IPS officers were promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) of police. Anup Kumar Sahoo (2006 batch) was promoted to the rank of IG police.

Four other officers, who are now on central deputation, were also allowed to avail promotion to the rank of IG police, a notification issued by the General Administration department said.

They are Amrita Dash, Anirudha Kumar Singh, Anoop Krishna and Sudha Singh. They are all 2006-batch officers.

Three 2010 batch officers- Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, Sarah Sharma and Kanwar Vishal Singh, were promoted to DIG rank.

IPS officers Pinak Mishra, Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar, Battula Gangadhar, Rahul Jain, Sarvana Vivek, Kusalkar Nitin Dagdu and Pratyush Diwaker are promoted to the Selection Grade in IPS.
