Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has ordered a major reshuffle in the IPS cadre, transferring and posting several senior police officers with immediate effect.
Here are the key changes:
Sanjeeb Panda, ADG Training and Director of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), has been appointed as ADG Anti-Naxal Operations, overseeing both Anti-Naxal Operations and the Special Intelligence Wing (SIW).
“Shri Sanjeeb Panda, IPS (RR 1994), at present ADG, Training and Director, BPSPA is transferred and posted as ADG, Anti Naxal Operations with immediate effect. He will look after functioning of both Special Intelligence Wing and Anti-Naxal Operations and will directly report to the DG&IG of Police, Odisha”, read the notification issued by the Home Department.
Akhileshvar Singh, DIG of Police, South Western Range (SWR), Koraput, has been transferred to DIG of Police, SIW, Bhubaneswar.
The Home Department has issued a notification in this regard stating, “Shri Akhileshvar Singh, IPS, (RR 2009), at present D.I.G of Police, SWR, Koraput, is transferred and posted as D.I.G. of Police, SIW, Bhubaneswar with immediate effect.”
Besides, Dr. Kanwar Vishal Singh (RR 2010), who was DIG of Police, SIW, Bhubaneswar, has been shifted to take charge as DIG of Police, SWR, Koraput.
“Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh, IPS, (RR 2010), at present D.I.G. of Police, SIW, Bhubaneswar, is transferred and posted as D.I.G of Police, SWR, Koraput with immediate effect”, read the government order.
As per government notification, Anup Kumar Sahoo, IGP Training, will continue to serve as Director of BPSPA until further orders.
