Jajpur: In a major breakthrough, the Jajpur Police have arrested 14 notorious robbers involved in over 30 cases, recovering Rs 6 lakh in cash, 230 grams of gold, 2 kg 500 grams of silver, and several deadly weapons.
The arrested individuals were terrorising the two districts, targeting houses late at night. The operation, codenamed “Night Sweeper”, was led by Jajpur SP Yas Pratap Shrimal under the direction of Central DIG Satyajit Nayak.
Six teams from neighboring districts, including Jajpur Police, conducted raids in various areas for 50 days, resulting in the arrests. The accused hail from Jajpur, Kendrapara, Puri, and Cuttack districts.
Central DIG Satyajit Nayak will hold a press conference at Jajpur Police Headquarters to brief on the operation.
