Bhubaneswar: The beheaded body of a jawan was recovered from the railway tracks near Landiguda Nua Colony in Koraput district, on Tuesday morning.
The deceased jawan has been identified as Dubaraj Pradhan, a resident of Sambalpur.
According to sources, the deceased jawan had gone to duty yesterday but did not return home. As he delayed to return home, his wife filed a complaint with police.
Police made a frantic search for Pradhan to know his whereabouts but in vain. However, locals spotted the body of Pradhan lying on railway tracks on Tuesday morning and informed police.
Informed, police reached the spot and seized the body. Police also initiated a probe into the matter to ascertain whether it was a case of suicide or murder.
