Puri: In a daring daylight incident, unidentified miscreants looted a bag containing gold, silver and cash from a jeweller near Chandanpur on Thursday.
According to the complaint filed, Sanjay, the owner of Radhakant Jewellery, was carrying the valuables when two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched the bag and fled the spot.
The stolen items reportedly include over a lakh rupees in cash along with a substantial quantity of gold and silver ornaments.
Chandanpur Police rushed to the location and initiated an investigation. Puri Police have formed three special teams to trace the culprits. The case has been handed over to the SDPO and Sadar Police for detailed inquiry.
Speaking to the media, the Puri SP said that verification is underway to ascertain the exact amount of gold, silver and cash looted, and all angles are being probed.
