Jeypore: Jeypore Town police have arrested three persons in connection with the firing on prominent businessman Pawan Agarwal’s son Adarsh Agarwal in broad daylight on March 4 here.
“We have so far arrested three persons in connection with the case of firing on a businessman by two miscreants on March 4 at around 1.30 PM. They are Abhijit Mahuria of Christianpeta, Firoz Nag of Jamunaguda, and Sachin Nayak of Hanaguda,” informed Koraput SP Abhinav Sonkar addressing a press meet at the Jeypore Town police station here today.
However, the other two accused Imran Khan of Jaynagar and Tulu Khosla are still at large, Sonkar added.
He said that Sachin who used to work at the firm of Adarsh Agarwal’s father Pawan Agarwal had shared information about his employer’s financial status, and his capacity to pay with other accused persons.
The accused persons using pre-activated SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) had demanded around Rs 50 lakh from Adarsh Agarwal, Sonkar said.
The SP said that as Adarsh expressed his inability to pay the extortion amount, the accused persons had planned to kill him
The accused persons had done a recce and had fired at Adarsh Agarwal with the intention to kill but he escaped unhurt as the bullets missed him.
