Jeypore: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday announced that a Vande Bharat Express train will soon connect Jeypore in Koraput district with Bhubaneswar, strengthening rail connectivity between southern Odisha and the state capital. Once operational, it will be the eighth pair of Vande Bharat trains in the state.
The Chief Minister also declared that the Jeypore paper mill will be revived and a new college will be established in the town.
Majhi made these announcements while attending the third phase of financial assistance disbursal under the ‘Subhadra’ scheme—Odisha’s flagship women’s empowerment initiative.
During the event, the CM laid the foundation for 436 projects worth ₹452 crore and inaugurated 126 projects worth ₹309.42 crore, covering infrastructure works in multiple sectors.
