Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda district administration has imposed a complete ban on drone operations across the district on April 21, 2026, in view of the proposed visit of President of India Droupadi Murmu.
According to an official order issued by the District Magistrate and Collector, the entire district has been declared a “No Drone Zone/No Flying Zone” for the day. The restriction will remain in effect throughout the President’s visit as a security measure.
“In view of the proposed visit of Hon’ble President of India to Jharsuguda on 21.04.2026, flying of drone is strictly prohibited on 21.04.2026 over the jurisdiction of Jharsuguda district and during the said period, Jharsuguda district has been declared as “No Drone Zone/ No Flying Zone”,” the order stated.
The administration said the decision has been taken to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the high-profile visit.
Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha on April 21. During her day-long visit, she will inaugurate a Planetarium and Science Centre, the Nirmal Munda Parivesh Path, a Tribal Museum, and an Integrated Command and Control Centre at Rourkela in separate public events.
The district administration has also cautioned that any violation of the directive will attract legal action under applicable security and aviation regulations.
