Bhubaneswar: Jharsuguda Police have achieved a significant legal success with the conviction of the accused to life imprisonment in a serious case registered under the POCSO Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The case was registered at Sadar Police Station, Jharsuguda, vide U/S 64(2)(f) BNS read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act, on 09.07.2025. Following a meticulous investigation and effective prosecution, the Court awarded life imprisonment to the accused.
This conviction is the result of consistent monitoring, close supervision, and coordinated efforts by the Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda, Addl. SP (IUCAW), SDPO, Jharsuguda, and the IIC, Sadar Police Station, which ensured timely investigation, robust evidence collection, and diligent follow-up during the trial.
Jharsuguda Police reiterate their zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against children and women and assure the public of swift, firm, and lawful action against offenders.
