Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated Jyotsna Sabar on being awarded the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar by President Droupadi Murmu.
In a post on X, Majhi praised Jyotsna’s remarkable achievement in international weightlifting, stating that her journey from a remote tribal region in Gajapati to setting the Asian Youth Record and winning medals at World, Asian, and Commonwealth Championships is truly extraordinary.
“Heartiest congratulations to Jyotsna Sabar, the pride of Odisha, on being conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar… Her achievement is exemplary of the grit and limitless potential of our youth,” Majhi said. The award recognises Jyotsna’s outstanding contributions to sports, bringing glory to Odisha and the nation.
It is worth noting that this year, only 21 children from across the country were selected for this award, and Jyosna is the only one from Odisha and the first child from Gajapati district to receive this honour.
