Dhenkanal: A 32-year-old man died after falling from a moving train near Dhenkanal Railway Station while returning home after having darshan of Lord Jagannath in Puri.
The deceased has been identified as Duryodhan Gohi, a resident of Gopalpur village under M. Rampur police station limits in Kalahandi district. He had visited Puri along with his wife, sister and brother-in-law.
According to reports, the family was travelling by train from Puri to Dhenkanal via Bhubaneswar. They planned to alight at Dhenkanal station for Kapilash darshan. However, shortly before the train reached the station, Duryodhan, who was standing near the door, fell off due to carelessness.
Railway police rescued him and were shifting him to the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital when he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Meanwhile, police have sent the body for post-mortem examination.
