Bhubaneswar: In a major relief for commuters, the Kalinga Ghat road in Kandhamal district has been reopened after 46 days.
As per the office order issued by the Kandhamal Collector Vedbhushan, all categories of vehicles will be allowed to ply on Kalinga Ghat from today. The Kandhamal Collector has permitted vehicular movement on the route.
As per reports, the Kalinga Ghat road was closed from September 23 as a precautionary measure following heavy rainfall and fear of landslide. The closure order was issued on September 24 to avoid any untoward incident. Now that the road has been repaired, the administration has decided to allow movement of all vehicles in the public interest. The order will remain in force until further orders.
