Koraput: Members of Bhumia Samaj have sought action against the social worker who allegedly forced Padma Sri awardee Kamala Pujari to dance inside the SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack while the latter was under treatment. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Reportedly, Pujari was in the ICU of the hospital when the social worker identified as Mamata Behera visited her and allegedly forced her to dance. Behera also captured the footage on a phone camera.
After being discharged from the hospital, Pujari said, “When I got up from my bed, she (Behera) held my waist and made me dance. I repeatedly denied it, but she did not listen.”
Questioning how the shooting was allowed inside the ICU, many organizations have demanded an investigation over the matter and action against Behera.
Members of Bhumia Samaj and other tribal communities met Jeypore Sub Collector Bedabara Pradhan and have submitted a memorandum addressing the President of India, Chief Minister, and Collector demanding legal action against Behera.
