Kataka: The Commissionerate Police has drawn up an elaborate security plan for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations in Kataka, with more than 1,300 CCTV cameras to be installed across the city and 60 platoons of police personnel to be deployed to maintain law and order.
Around 500 police officers and two companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be deployed to manage crowds, regulate traffic and prevent anti-social activities during the festivities.
The security arrangements will also include 57 aid posts at different locations across the city. Police personnel deployed at various points have been instructed to take prompt action in the event of any disturbance.
The deployment plan and responsibilities of personnel were explained at a police briefing held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on Friday.
The Kataka DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo said the Commissionerate Police had put in place comprehensive arrangements to ensure that Durga Puja is celebrated peacefully and in an orderly manner.
