Bhubaneswar: Veteran journalist Akshay Sahoo received a menacing email from Gurpatwant Pannun, a self-proclaimed member of a Khalistani outfit. The ominous message threatens to disrupt the ongoing national conference.
Pannun’s email takes it a step further, announcing a staggering Rs 25 lakh cash reward for anyone daring to hoist the Khalistani flag in Bhubaneswar during the DGP conference.
Going by report, Sahoo received an unsettling email around 9:04 a.m. Initially, Sahoo brushed it off as spam, a common occurrence in today’s digital age. However, as he delved deeper into the email’s content, the gravity of the situation became starkly apparent. Pannu might have wanted to convey his message through Sahoo.
Apart from the text email, Pannun has allegedly sent an audio email to the Bhubaneswar-based journalist. The audio message, laden with ominous intent, has explicitly warned to avoid flying from Bhubaneswar International Airport on December 1, ominously declaring it a ‘D-Day.”
The email’s menacing tone has understandably left Odisha Police on edge, prompting concerns about safety and national security.
“Hindu Terrorist Modi Has Turned Bhubaneswar Into A Terror City. Do Not Fly To and From Biju Patnaik Airport on December 1. Khalistan Naxals, Maoists, Kashmiri fighters TARGET DGP Terror Conference, Lok Seva Bhawan, RAISE KHALISTAN Flag, REWARD Rs. 25 Lakh. Pro Khalistan Sikhs Are READY To Die For Freedom of Punjab, Indian Police Chiefs Are You Willing To Sacrifice Your Life To Defend The Territorial Integrity of India ?,” read the threat e-mail addressed to Sahoo.
