Ganjam: As many as 15 bike-borne miscreants hacked two youths including a student of Khallikote College near Bijipur Kali temple under Town police limits in Ganjam. The miscreants reportedly opened fire on them before fleeing.
The injured have been identified as Sujan Patra, a student of Khallikote College and his friend. They are currently undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
As per reports, the miscreants came in bikes and assaulted Sujan and his friends. They opened fire at them but missed the target. Sujan was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition. He had received severe injuries on his head.
Police have registered a case in this connection and started an investigation into it to ascertain the reason behind the attack.
“I was talking over the phone near the temple when the armed miscreants attacked us leaving me injured. I didn’t have enmity with them. So, I don’t know the reason.”
