Bolangir: The Vigilance department sleuths on Tuesday launched simultaneous raids at five locations In Nuapada and Bolangir related to Narayan Sahoo, Block Development Officer (BDO), Khariar in Nuapada district, in connection with the disproportionate assets (DA) case. The raids are being carried out by three DSPs, 10 Inspectors, four ASIs and other staff of Vigilance on the basis of a warrant issued by CBI Special Judge, Bolangir.
The raids are being carried out at Sahoo’s residential house located behind Vatika Hotel on Sadar PS Road in Bolangir; the parental house of the accused at Kusmel village under Loinsingha police station limits in Bolangir; and his office chamber at the Panchayat Samiti office in Khariar of Nuapada district.
The Vigilance sleuths are also searching Sahoo’s residential government quarter in Khariar, Nuapada district; and the residential house of one of Sahoo’s relatives at Bidighat under Sadar Block in Bolangir district.
So far, the Vigilance sleuths have unearthed the following assets from the possession of the BDO and his family members:
- Cash worth Rs 3.84 lakh.
- Land/Plots in and around Bolangir.
- One double-storeyed building at the backside of Vatika Hotel, Balangir town.
- 400 gms of gold.
- 1 four-wheeler (Hyundai Creta).
- 2 two-wheelers.
