Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for 12 districts of Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning to continue.
According to the nowcast warning issued at 7:30 am on Friday, the light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is very likely to occur at many places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangpur, Bargada, Boudh, Nayagada, Kataka, Khordha and Puri districts for the next 3 hours. These districts have been issued yellow alert.
The IMD has advised people to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and plan accordingly for their safety.
Residents have been urged to avoid venturing out during thunderstorm activity and take shelter indoors.
