Bhubaneswar: Khurda Model police on Tuesday seized one vehicle and five mobile phones along with 262 grams of brown sugar and arrested six drug peddlers, including a woman, from the Gurujung Mahotsav grounds.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off, Khurda Model police station personnel raided the Gurujung Mahotsav grounds and seized 26 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 26 lakh from the possession of the arrested.
The police have launched an investigation into the case to find the other people involved in the narcotics trade in the region. Meanwhile, Khurda SP Siddharth Kataria informed that the illegal brown sugar business is being operated from within the Khurda Sub-Jail.
