Bhubaneswar: Tension ran high at a clinic at Kamal Square in Sambalpur district following the death of a youth while undergoing treatment there, on Saturday.
According to sources, a youth had gone to the clinic being run by a doctor named Ashok Nanda after he felt uneasy. Nanda reportedly administered a saline and an injection to the ailing youth. The health condition of the youth deteriorated after being administered saline and injection and subsequently, he died.
The family of the deceased staged a protest outside the hospital following the death of the youth and assaulted the doctor. The situation was aggravated when the son of the doctor slapped one of the relatives of the deceased youth.
Police, on a tip-off, rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators. Also, police have detained the doctor and his son for interrogation.
