Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance apprehended Amin of Kirmira Tehsil office in Jharsuguda, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000.
Bhaskar Meher was caught red-handed while he was accepting the illegal gratification.
The entire tainted money recovered from his possession, vigilance said.
The bribe was sought to submit a field verification report for a plot’s Record of Rights (ROR/Land Patta). Meher claimed the map attached to the sale deed was incorrect.
A case has been registered under Section 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018. Searches are underway at Meher’s locations.
