Know How Lucky Barabati Stadium Is For Team India

Bhubaneswar: As Barabati Stadium in Cuttack is all set to host the second match of the ongoing T20 series between India and South Africa on June 12 (Sunday), let’s have a look at the history of the matches played by the national team on the pitch and how lucky was it for them.

Established in 1958 by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), Barabati Stadium hosted its first One-Day International (ODI) in January 1982, its first-ever Test match in 1987, and its first T20 in 2015.

Till date, India has played 19 ODIs, two Test matches, and two T20s on this ground. Out of it, the national team has emerged victorious in 13 ODIs, two Tests, and one T20. The next T20 to be played at the stadium is a major challenge for Team India as it had lost against South Africa in the T20 match played on the ground in 2015.
