Bhubaneswar: Not only the general public but some dignitaries and popular faces turned up at their respective polling stations on Thursday to cast their votes for the Urban Local Body (ULB) elections in Odisha.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave his vote at booth no. 544 in Aerodrome UP School under Ward No.53 of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian and his wife cum Mission Shakti commissioner Sujata Karthikeyan, cast their votes in Bhubaneswar. Similarly, Cuttack Municipal Commissioner Ananya Das exercised her franchise in Cuttack.
Among politicians, BJD’s Organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das and his family members cast their votes at Bahabalapur Nodal UP School of Jajpur. Congress leader Narasingha Mishra exercised his franchise at booth no 84 in Balangir Municipality.
The candidates who are contesting the polls also exercised their franchise today. Mayor candidates of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), BJD’s Sulochana Das, and BJP’s Suniti Mund also exercised their right to vote.
OTDC chairperson Shreemayee Mishra gave her vote at Kasturaba Shikshya Ashram Vidyamandir in Nayapalli of Bhubaneswar. She urged all to strengthen the democratic system with their valuable votes.
