Koraput: In a major boost to Odisha’s coffee sector, Koraput Coffee has won two Fine Cup awards and secured 4th place in the prestigious Flavour of India – The Final Cup Award 2024.
The awards were announced at the India International Coffee Festival 2025, held in Bangalore on April 26 and 27.
The recognition comes under the KYK (Know Your Kappi) Drive 2024, a national-level initiative by the Coffee Board of India to identify and promote the finest coffees across the country. Koraput Coffee’s Arabica Washed and Arabica Natural varieties were both honoured with Fine Cup awards, a testament to their superior quality, taste, and aroma.
This is the first time coffee from Odisha has received dual recognition at a national competition of this stature, placing Koraput among the top four coffee-producing regions in India.
Behind this success is the sustained effort of the Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd. (TDCCOL), which oversees the entire process — from harvesting ripe coffee cherries from tribal farmers’ doorsteps to managing post-harvest processing and marketing.
The model not only ensures quality control but also guarantees fair value for indigenous farmers, many of whom are first-generation participants in the coffee trade.
A Certificate of Appreciation was also presented to TDCCOL during the festival in recognition of its role in promoting tribal-grown coffee from Odisha on a national platform.
The Fine Cup award is considered one of the highest recognitions in the Indian coffee industry, celebrating not only taste but the integrity and traceability of the coffee’s origin.
With this achievement, Koraput Coffee continues to gain ground as one of India’s emerging specialty coffees, promising both quality and social impact.
