Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of workers and public representatives from various institutions of the Kui (Kandha) community of Odisha visited the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Sunday to thank him for recommending the inclusion of the Kui language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution by the state Cabinet.

Udayagiri representative Virendra Pradhan, Narottam Pradhan, Kui Samaj Seva Samiti, president of Phulbani Sudharsan Kaher, editor Avni Kumar Kaher, Kui Phard Samiti, Baliguda president Manoj Mallik, Kui Youth Council president Dekshis Kaher, Bachinder Kaher, Rayagada district representative Vijay Kumar Melka, Tribal Language and Culture, Odisha member Medinidhar Jani, Koraput representative Bhudu Miniaka, Bulu Hikka, Gopi Pangi of Malkangari district, Haribandhu Golari, Tribal Development Council state advisor Pradeep Majhi, Special Development Council, Kandhamal chairperson Radan Mallik, vice chairperson Nalini Kaher, MLA of Kandhamal district Angad Kahar, Chakramani Kahar, Saluga Pradhan, Kandhamal District Council chairperson Nandini Mallik, various block chairpersons and chairperson Anima Kahar, Sasmita Kahar, Phillip Kahar, Pritam Pradhan, Venetri Kanhar, Basanti Majhi, Sushma Pradhan, Sushant Pradhan, District Council member Jayshree Kahar, Ranjan Pradhan, Lilima Pradhan, Namita Kanhar, and Mamatarani Kanhar were among the attendees.
Kandhamal Lok Sabha MP Dr. Achyut Samantha and Bihan Nigam, Odisha chairman Vijay Kumar Naik were present and welcomed everyone. Other senior public representatives Lalananda Pradhan, Bishnu Mallik, Stephen Pradhan, Sushant Kanhar, and Kumud Chandra Mallik were also present and expressed their thanks and gratitude to the Chief Minister.
