Lady Presiding Officer Panics After EVM Malfunction In Sundargarh Booth, Faints

Bhubaneswar: Amidst the second phase of the election polling in 5 Lok Sabha and 35 Assembly constituencies in Odisha, a lady presiding officer in Sundargarh panicked and lost her consciousness following the malfunction of an EVM machine.

As per sources, the lady presiding officer of booth no. 211 at Sundargarh was distressed by the havoc created by the voters due to the delay in the voting procedure.

The lady officer was quickly admitted to the nearest hospital in a critical condition.

 In a similar situation another presiding officer in charge of booth no.130 in Basanti colony, Rourkela fainted due to heatwave conditions.

Whereas, the voter turnout till 11.00 am in the ongoing polling is recorded at 21.07 per cent with, Bargarh leading at 22.95 per cent, followed by Aska (21.53%), Kandhamal (21.19%), Sundargarh (21.19%), and Bolangir (17.90%).
