Koraput: Train services on the Koraput-Jagdalpur route have been disrupted following a landslide between Maliguda and Chhatripur stations under the Rayagada division, prompting the East Coast Railway (ECoR) to cancel four trains and curtail the operations of two others.
According to the railway authorities, the Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Passenger (58502) and Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Express (18516) will remain cancelled on September 30 and October 1.
Their return services — Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger (58501) and Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Express (18515) — have also been cancelled on both days.
Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Express (18447) will operate only up to Koraput instead of Jagdalpur on September 29 and 30.
The corresponding Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Express (18448) will originate from Koraput instead of Jagdalpur on September 30 and October 1.
The changes have been made as rail traffic was affected by soil erosion and the subsequent landslide on the section. Railway authorities have advised passengers to take note of the revised train operations while planning their journeys.
