Bhubaneswar: The last rites of 143 workers who died in different outside States and of 10 workers who died in different countries were conducted in their native places in Odisha in the last three years.
This was revealed by Labour & Employees State Insurance Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak in a written reply to a query from BJD MLA from Salipur Prasanta Behera in the Odisha Assembly on Thursday.
As many as 29 workers from Kalahandi district have died in outside States followed by 13 each from Bolangir and Boudh districts in the last three years, according to the data shared by the Minister in his reply.
Similarly, six emigrant workers from Chhatrapur died overseas, the data shared by the Minister added.
