Lightning Strike Kills One, Injures Another In Boudh District

Bhubaneswar: One person died and another sustained injured due to due to lightning strike at Dhalpur village under Harbhanga police limits in Boudh district.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon when Gobinda Mahakud (45) and Tukuna Dheury (32) were grazing cattle at Tikarapada field when the lightning struck. Both were rushed to Athmallik Hospital for treatment, where Mahakud was declared dead by the doctor. Tukuna who had sustained injuries is undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.

Mahakud, a poor farmer, leaves behind a wife and two sons. The local community is demanding immediate government assistance for the bereaved family.
