Bhubaneswar: A liquor shop owner sustained bullet injuries after four armed miscreants opened fire on him during a robbery at his shop in Gorumahisani village under Gorumahisani police station in Mayurbhanj district, on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as Sabyasachi Mohanty.
According to reports, the assailants arrived at the shop posing as customers and ordered liquor. When Mohanty turned to fetch the liquor, the miscreants fired two rounds from behind, one of which struck him in the leg. As he collapsed to the ground, the assailants entered the shop, looted cash from the drawer, and fled the scene.
Locals immediately rushed Mohanty to the Rairangpur Sub-divisional Hospital. He was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition was reported to be critical.
Upon receiving information, Gorumahisani Police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
