Bhubaneswar: Three persons were arrested for beating the salesman of a liquor shop to death in Khaprakhol of Bolangir district on Monday.
Lachman Das of Kharkhar village, Jugindra Bariha and Biswanath Niar of Budabhata went to the liquor shop at Khaprakhol to purchase liquor.
The salesman identified as Gopal Prasad demanded Rs 190 for liquor while the price was fixed at Rs 180.
Three customers got into an argument with Gopal over high price, which took an ugly turn. The trio thrashed him severely with a wooden plank leaving him seriously injured.
Critically injured Gopal was immediately taken to Patnagarh health centre and latter shifted to Burla. However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The deceased, Gopal Prasad is a resident of Bihar, police said.
Police seized the body for post-mortem. All the accused are being questioned. They will be produced before court tomorrow, police said.
