Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic incident, a college student was killed in a road accident near Sana Bazar on Wednesday, prompting locals to block the Jagatsinghpur– Jaiepur road in protest.
The deceased has been identified as Truptimayee Sahoo, a Plus III student of Gadibrahma Women’s (Degree) College.
According to eyewitnesses, Truptimayee was riding her bicycle when a car, coming from the Paradip side, struck her near a road junction. She died on the spot due to the severity of the impact.
Following the accident, residents of the area gathered at the scene, demanding strict action against the driver. The protest led to traffic disruption on the Jagatsinghpur– Jaiepur road, with commuters facing significant delays.
On receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot, seized the vehicle involved, and launched an investigation into the accident. Tension remained high at the location as locals continued to demand justice for the deceased student.
