Puri: Locals staged a protest on Nabakalebara Road in Puri district on Friday after a woman was seriously injured in a road accident.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a bus traveling from Jagannath Temple to Malatipatapur Bus Stand hit the woman. She sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to Puri District Headquarters Hospital by nearby residents.
In response to the incident, locals blocked the road, stopping traffic and demanding prompt action against those responsible. Buses and other vehicles were stranded as demonstrators staged a sit-in, drawing attention to road safety concerns in the area.
On receiving information about the protest, the City DSP and Kumbharapada police reached the site to manage the situation and ensure the road was cleared.
