Bhubaneswar: Police on Tuesday night foiled a loot attempt and arrested four persons under Bolagarh Police Station limits in Khordha district.
According to police, a patrolling team intercepted the suspects while they were allegedly planning a robbery in the area. During the search, police recovered one country-made pistol with live ammunition, two country-made bombs, a sword, an iron rod, a cutter, a chain, brass knuckles, chilli powder, a motorcycle, and two liquor bottles from their possession.
Police said the accused were preparing to carry out a dacoity when the patrol team, acting on suspicion, surrounded and apprehended them.
The four accused are being interrogated to ascertain their criminal backgrounds and possible involvement in similar incidents in the district. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
