Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area formed over the northeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal will cause heavy rainfall across Odisha from September 30 to October 2, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its midday bulletin on Friday.
The state is likely to experience extremely heavy rainfall from Saturday to Monday.
The rainfall forecast issued by the IMD for the next five days is below:
Day-1: (Valid up to 0830 Hrs IST of 30.09.2023)
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurdha, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada.
Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak of Odisha.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Balasore.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Angul, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur and Khurdha. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north Odisha, south coastal Odisha, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Bolangir, and Kalahandi.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Sundargarh, Deogarh Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur & Bolangir of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore districts.
