Puri: The transfer of ornaments of Lord Shree Jagannath from the temporary strong room to the permanent inner Ratna Bhandar was successfully completed today. The process, carried out in the presence of magistrate and other officials, began at 10:55 am and concluded at 2:55 pm.
The transfer was conducted as per the guidelines of the state government and the advice of the management committee. Six cupboards containing the ornaments were taken from the temporary strong room to the inner store, and two keys have been deposited in the district treasury.
The entire process was videographed as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure transparency. The Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee informed that the key to the outer treasury will be kept with the representative of Gajapati, the temple administration, and the treasurer, following tradition.
The Ratna Bhandar Committee head, Justice Biswanath Rath, and other members, including the Collector and SP, were present during the process. The state government’s instructions are awaited for the inventory.
