Baripada: In a shocking incident, a person allegedly slit his girlfriend’s throat with a blade, leaving her fighting for life.
The incident occurred at Itamundi Square under Jashipur police station limits on Sunday night.
The accused, hailing from Anandapur in Keonjhar district, had been in a romantic relationship with the victim, a resident of Maharajpur village under Jashipur police station in Mayurbhanj.
According to reports, the accused became enraged when the victim refused to end a phone call with another male friend. In a fit of rage, he stormed into her rented accommodation and attacked her with a blade, slashing her throat.
The victim is undergoing treatment at Jashipur Hospital in a critical condition. The accused has been detained by the police, who are investigating the matter.
