The IMD has warned of squally weather over the region, with winds reaching 40-50 kmph and gusting up to 60 kmph over the Northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal. Similar conditions are likely along and off the coasts of West Bengal, Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh till August 24.

Sea conditions are expected to remain rough to very rough over the Northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and along and off the coasts of West Bengal, Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh during the same period.

The weather office has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea over the Northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and along and off the coasts of West Bengal, Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh till August 24.

The IMD has also advised people, particularly those engaged in marine activities, to exercise caution in view of the prevailing weather conditions.
